Welcome to Nowhere-Else and Beyond

When you first enter the world you will be on a small tutorial island called "Somewhere in Nowhere". This island will introduce you to the basic functions and features of the game. Follow the on screen instructions and it won't be long before you are battling terrible Acid Slugs and adventuring into far off exotic locations.

Once you find yourself on the main island it is a good idea to familiarize yourself with your surroundings and test out the skills you were taught in the tutorial that you still have. Please notice that your cooking and crafting skills are no longer there, you will have to earn these by doing quests on the main island (The south part and the north part). There is so much to do in the world of Nowhere-Else that it may seem a little daunting at first, but don't worry you will soon get the hang of it all.

If you get stuck

If you ever get stuck, or just want to talk to someone, then open the chat window. This can be done either by selecting "chat window" from the game menu on the left hand side of your screen or by selecting "chat window" from the tool bar at the top of the game screen. Please feel free to ask any player questions (most are friendly and don't bite!) about the game or any problems you are having. There are designated Player Helpers in the game who are regarded as experienced players who should always try and help you. These players have "winged" avatars, have green names and type in blue text. For a list of the current Player Helpers click here.

If you have any problems navigating through this help document mail a Player Helper using the internal messaging system (accessed through the Post Office located in Castle Soupir, or, if you have it, through the Post Ordinance object which can be accessed in your left side menu by clicking on the "Post Ordinance" link).

Cursed Bracelets

When you enter the world of NEAB you are wearing some basic gear - a simple animal pelt helmet, leather pants, and buskins (a simple shoe to protect your feet). Most equipment you can take on and off by using the equip and unequip functions that you learned in the tutorial.

You will notice however that you are wearing two items that behave differently - Cursed Bracelets. If you click on them in your inventory you will see their description which reads:

" As far as you remember you always had this bracelet on, so you kinda like it, even though you would like to be able to remove it in order to wear more powerful ones. Maybe you could check in the token shop for a solution to the problem."

The Cursed Bracelet itself does not hurt you (or help you) in any way. It is merely a placeholder for the bracelet slot(s). It is perfectly possible and acceptable to play and enjoy this game without ever taking off your Cursed Bracelets. This slot was designed as a fun feature to encourage people to donate to support the game (servers cost money and we want this game to be free to everyone!).

Once unlocked the Bracelet slots behave the same as any other - you may buy/sell/trade bracelets and equip them just like other gear. To unlock this slot and get rid of your Cursed Bracelets you must acquire Diamond Tokens - one for the first slot and two for the second (these can be done separately). As an added bonus, when you remove the second bracelet, you receive the Object Inventor - which allows you to design an item for yourself (maybe a new bracelet for that open slot?!).

Diamond Tokens (or DTs) are a special type of currency that let you purchace nearly unique items or services. For each 5$ you donate, using the red "Make a donation" link, you will receive one. Also, it is possible to BUY DTs from other players with in-game gold - but, as you can imagine, they tend to be very expensive! To see what other items are availble with DTs - visit the Token Shop located north of Castle Soupir.

NPC Shops and Related Info

NOTE: The below text is unformatted as of yet and unedited by me (It was written by Portia). It will also eventually be added to its own page for clarity reasons.

How do I buy Stuff?

In this game buying and selling are vital to your success and the in-game economy. You will want to upgrade your gear and get rid of your old stuff. You can either buy things in NPC (Non Player Character) stores or from other players.

NPC Stores Some NPC stores are located in Castle Soupir - such as the Emporium (where you can buy some basic supplies) and John the Smith (where you can find some basic weapons). Others are located around the Main Island - such as the Soupir in a bottle where you can buy cheap mana and heal potions. There are stores in other towns and on other islands and some are even hidden. Some items are common and are found in many stores other items are uncommon and can only be found in a few. Items available in NPC stores close to the castle tend to be basic - as you explore further afield you may find more exotic items for sale.

AUCTION HOUSE: all Auctions end at 1:05 server time

Player Stores In Castle Soupir there is a Market - this is where ALL of the personal player stores are located. Here is where a lot of the buying and selling in the game take place. Players can open a store for only 5000 gp and update their inventory frequently. You can get some great deals here! The advanced search feature lets you set criteria and see what meets your needs or you can browse with the simple search. There are pages and pages of stores...go SHOPPING!

Other ways... Players can also buy and sell without a store...negotiating with each other in chat or by mail. You can trade items person to person if you are in the same "location chat" - this is usually best for small trades or giving gifts - there is no record and the deals are rather unenforceable - so beware of THIEVES! More commonly, people use the Post Office for person-to-person trades - negotiating the deal in chat and then the seller mails the item as an attachment with a "negative gold" request attached - the buyer then can either "accept" the deal if it is correct or "refuse" it if the terms are wrong.

Manage Your Shop

In Nowhere Else and Beyond you can make your own shop for 5000 gold and it will appear in the Soupir castle market. Once you have created a shop you choose a name and put in a short description. You can add items by selecting them in the item select screen and then pressing [Add selected items] Then set the prices and press (update Shop) at the top of the screen. This will update your changes. By pressing (Preview) you can see the a preview of your shop as a buyer will see it.

Advertising gold

You can add advertising gold to make your shop go up in the list so it's seen more often. The amount of gold will decrease 10% every day so it is important to add more every so often to keep it high on the list.

Lottery Games

There are a few types of lottery games on the main island.

The Lottery boy will sell you instant win scratch tickets in Castle Soupir.

If you're under level 20, once a month you can purchase a Lucky Diamond ticket for 100 gold.

There are also a few casino like games at the earth gluers head quarters at the center of the earth.
